Counting tickers flatters a wallet. Selva measures how the stocks in it actually move.
What a real bet is
If two stocks rise and fall together, you’re holding the same bet twice. Selva works out how many independent bets are left in a wallet and calls that number real bets.
Here w is each stock’s share of the wallet, σ its volatility, and Σ how all of them move together. One stock scores 1, ten stocks that move as one score about 1, and ten that move apart score about 10.
Correlations blend the past year with the market’s worst days, because stocks tend to fall together. Broad funds get credit for what’s inside them, which is why SPY alone scores above 3. Positions under $1 are ignored.

Questions
Do my stocks leave my wallet?
No. Selva only reads balances. Mining needs no deposit, no lock and no approval.
What does rooting do?
You sign one free message to prove the wallet is yours. It costs nothing, moves nothing, and starts your forest mining and your Old Growth clock. It takes $10 of plants, and a forest left empty for a day loses its roots.
How is each day’s share worked out?
Rooted forests are read every hour. Each day the mine shares out 1% of what’s left in it, split by the mining power they averaged. Every day is published as a public report at /api/mine?report=1, 2, 3 and so on, and the hash of that report is written in the contract.
Can anyone take what’s in the mine?
No. The contract has no withdrawal, for anyone. It can only pay forests what they’ve mined, and the 1% a day is fixed for good.
Can I split a wallet to mine more?
Usually you lose by it, about 17% on average in our tests, because stocks split across wallets stop counting as diversified. Splitting can get a big wallet around the $5,000 cap, but nobody earns more per dollar than a small wallet.
Is this advice to buy these stocks?
No. It’s arithmetic on how prices have moved. Correlations change, and more real bets doesn’t mean more profit.
Where can I plant?
Stock Tokens aren’t offered to U.S. persons and are restricted in Canada, the UK, Switzerland and sanctioned countries, so buying is switched off there. Reading a forest works everywhere.
